Probably the most unique of all the trees in the Průhonice Park is the dove tree (Davidia involucrata var. vilmoriniana) which originated in West China and is quite rare in the Czech Republic. This little-known tree is most attractive when in bloom. The first flowers appear in the first half of May. The globular inflorescence, which grows on long peduncles is not very distinctive. However, it is partially covered by two snow-white bracts of different lengths, which can reach up to 20 cm. Thanks to its bracts, the dove tree is very attractive when in bloom.
